Carnegie College is committed to providing a completely integrated and robust provision of support services to all our learners. We acknowledge all students are individuals with their own preferences, needs and goals. To this end all learner services are easily accessible within the Learning Zone under the School of Communities and Learner Development. This single centre will co-ordinate all required support elements and deliver essential course elements (basic core skills) and enhance course elements. This will incorporate: • Guidance (academic, pastoral, finance) • Support for Learning • Extended Learning Support (for those with Additional Support Needs) • Access to assistive technology and resources for learning • Inwards transition support • Progression/articulation transition support • Employability, Enterprise and Citizenship The services will be both physical and virtual ie skilled staff will be available to consult, discuss and deliver learner skills and there is also a bank of enhanced resources on the College’s Virtual Learning Environment to enable independent study and enriched knowledge and essential skills. Carnegie College acknowledges education and training needs for the 21st Century. Government Guidelines for Curriculum Excellence are therefore embedded in every learner’s journey. We strive to ensure all learners will be enterprising, adaptive, flexible, confident, employable and active citizens. To enable this result, specific support services are detailed below. |
