| Student designs website for young Fife footballers |
As part of his HND Interactive Multi-Media Creation course, student ![]() Nick Roviezzo (20) from Glenrothes, was asked to develop the current website for the Fife Football Development League, an organisation based in Cowdenbeath and set up to teach young children from 5-11 to play football in a fun, non-competitive way before they move on to the competitions of the Junior League. The idea of a new website for FFDL came from Carnegie gas lecturer, Sean Baldwin, the chairman and coach of a junior team. With around 1,000 hits a week from clubs, coaches, parents, children and people moving into Fife, the current website needed updating and made more user friendly. Nick began working on the webpage in January, and three months later presented it to the FFDL committee. “I was quite nervous showing them what I had come up with, but they all seemed to like it. There’s just a few tweaks to be made, and then after trialing it between the committee members, the site will be replacing the current one and going live in August when the new season starts,” he said. The FFDL committee was very impressed with Nick’s website, admitting they hadn’t expected such a high standard from a student project. Nick has been offered a conditional place at Edinburgh Napier on the 3rd year of the BDes in Design and Digital Arts and should have no problem meeting the conditions and starting there after the summer, as he and the other students on his course are all on target to achieve good grades.
