For many years Jim Leishman has always been eager to help Carnegie students, giving advice and encouragement during their courses, presenting certificates and prizes. He was instrumental in providing the Mary Leishman Scholarship for Art and Drama which is awarded to Carnegie students experiencing financial hardship and without which they would be unable to continue their studies. He even agreed to being held to ‘ransom’ and ‘imprisoned’ by students as a publicity stunt during a fund raising activity.

Former Managing Director of Babcock Engineering Services, Rosyth, Noel McKenna has always taken a very keen interest in education and training at Carnegie College. He served on the Carnegie Board of Management for over six years. A former apprentice himself, his advice and experience proved invaluable in the development of the College’s Rosyth campus over a period of change and growth for engineering training and associated employment in the area.

Geoff Fenlon, Principal and Chief Executive, Carnegie College said ‘This year we are pleased to announce that we will be presenting Jim Leishman MBE and Noel McKenna OBE with Fellowships at the College’s Graduation Ceremony to be held at Dunfermline Abbey. We are delighted to recognize in this way the support they both have given to the College and the wider West Fife Community. They will be joining a growing group of illustrious citizens who have shown their contribution to education and training and to our students and the community over many years. We thank them all for their continued allegiance to Carnegie College.’
