Fashion Through the Decades
Carnegie Business students recently joined forces with the college’s ITEC Beauty students to put on a fashion show – ‘Make-up and Fashion Through the Decades’.

One of the organisers, business student Rosalyn Westwater said, “Part of our course work requires that we put together an event and we came up with the idea of holding a fashion show to promote ‘Essence’, the college’s purpose built beauty and complementary therapy training salon.

The show featured fashion from the 1950s through to current trends and the Essence students applied the appropriate make-up to complement the models’ outfits.

To help cover the costs of putting on the show students have taken part in fundraising events such as a sponsored walk over the Forth Bridge, and have obtained raffle prizes from local businesses and shops.

The event was a great success and brought back memories to a lot of people including the days of flares and hotpants!
