Charity Fashion Night raises 600 pounds for Victoria Hospital
web_scott and amanda.jpgWhen Carnegie Conference Centre staff learned that one of their colleagues was undergoing treatment for leukaemia at Fife’s Victoria Hospital, they asked the question ‘what can we do to help?’

Conference Centre barman,Scott McCrindle aged 19 from Dunfermline, attends the haematology ward at the hospital for treatment whilst still working shifts at the Centre. Jan Thomson, Depute Managing Director with the Conference Centre, said “As I was organising our Fashion Show, I realised that this was the ideal opportunity to raise some much needed cash for the hospital and to show our support for Scott. Staff and local businesses all pulled together, giving very generously of their time and expertise.

Laura Campbell, La Vida’s owner, managed to persuade some of her customers to model her clothes, and Dougie Barr from Dunfermline Hair Salon, Sheds, came along to style their hair.”

Elvis tribute performer, Linton Osborne, provided some of the entertainment, while the unexpected, but welcome, display by four young male models rounded off the evening for the predominantly female audience. Jan said “It was a fantastic night out and a great success, and everyone had a great time. I would like to sincerely thank all those involved in helping us raise over £600 for the hospital. We hope to make this an annual charity event”.
