Carnegie Drama students to present a storm of a show
Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest’ is this year’s annual showcase production for Carnegie’s Higher National Certificate (HNC) Acting and Performance students. The performances will take place on 14th and 15th February at the Carnegie Hall, Dunfermline, at 2pm and 7pm. Tickets are available from the Carnegie Hall Box Office.

Sarah Halliwell, Performing Arts Curriculum Leader with the college said ‘It is a fantastic opportunity for the students to experience the technical challenges of performing in such a large auditorium as the Carnegie Hall. As part of their course work they learn about voice, movement and acting theory, now they will be putting all this to practice in a large theatre space. They have enjoyed bringing the Shakespearian text alive by undertaking literary analysis and applying acting methodology to bring out the full comedy and romance involved in ‘The Tempest’.  The students get a real buzz from working in a professional theatre. Productions such as this have proved to be a great benefit for our students when they go on to audition for university places.

The play is a magical drama set on an enchanted Mediterranean island and explores the issues of loss, love, forgiveness and reconciliation.
