| HNC & HND |
Higher National qualifications provide excellent evidence of your potential. Higher National Certificates (HNC) and Higher National Diplomas (HND) prepare you for a huge range of occupations and greatly enhance your career potential and job prospects. They also give you the opportunity to progress to university degrees. An HNC is in fact equivalent to the first year of a degree course and an HND is equivalent to the second year of a degree. Courses are made up of higher national unit credits - one credit represents roughly 40 hours of learning. An HNC consists of up to 12 credits and usually takes one year to complete full-time and two years to complete if studying part-time. The HND consists of 30 credits and usually takes two years to complete if studying at college on a full-time basis and up to four years to complete if studying part-time. |
