Colleges are often substantial land and property owners in their own right. Classes in this section cover information at a strategic level relating to the college’s management of its physical resources. Information that provides specific details of the college’s future plans to alter its estate (e.g. proposals to purchase additional property) may be exempt from disclosure where such disclosure would damage the college’s commercial interests. Description of estateCarnegie College currently occupies sites at Halbeath, Dunfermline, Cowdenbeath and Rosyth. In line with the policy of community wide involvement, the college also utilises remote Access Centres. Details of the property portfolio are held within Estates Services. Estate development plansDetails of major changes to Carnegie College’s estate are contained within the Estates Strategy section of the Carnegie College Strategic Plan. External fundingCarnegie College uses European Social Funding to support ongoing College activities. Details of current funding are available upon request. Buildings under constructionDetails of buildings under construction and current refurbishment and maintenance works are detailed within the Estates Strategy section of the Strategic Plan. MaintenanceA full planned maintenance and response maintenance system is operated by Carnegie College. Maintenance arrangements and policies for buildings and grounds are contained within the planned maintenance programme and the colleges computerised management system. Estates indicatorsPerformance Indicators on major estates functions are contained within the e-mandate reporting system. Environmental policiesThe institution’s environmental policies, practices and overview of their impact are currently under development. There is an Environmental Sustainability Policy that aligns with the Scottish Executive objectives for Building a Sustainable Scotland and provides an organisational focus on environmental sustainability that will advise and inform future strategy for Carnegie College. top Back to Freedom of Information Menu |
