This section covers information on the college’s strategy and management of human resources, rather than information relating to individual members of staff (which is exempt from disclosure as personal information).  The information available covers Personnel policies and procedures. 


Staff profile


Statistical information on staff, including reports at organisational and local level by grade, sex, age and disability, is not currently collected.


Recruitment policies


Carnegie College has a policy on recruitment and selection, which is contained within its Staff Handbook.

Performance management


Carnegie College has in place a Performance Management Policy.  This is supported by a Staff Development Policy and Disciplinary Policy and Procedure.  These are available in the Staff Handbook.

Promotion

Pensions


Pension arrangements are made individually with staff upon appointment.  More specific information is available upon request from Human Resource Services, who may in turn seek guidance from pension advisers.

Carnegie College has a Race Equality Scheme.  Carnegie College is a member of the Fife Community Safety Partnership and uses Racial Incident Monitoring Forms to record incidents which are used in statistics on Racial Incidents within Fife.

Staff records


Personal information about staff is stored securely, and is processed strictly in accordance with the Data Protection Act requirements.  (Data Protection Act guidelines)  Specific information can be sought from Human Resource Services or Staff Development Services.


Staff facilities


At all locations of Carnegie College, staff have access to facilities for refreshments and breaks from work.  Carnegie College has a Welfare and Wellbeing at Work Group, through which staff can receive benefits including subsidised access to community leisure facilities and advice on health issues and health promotion.  Staff also have access to an Occupational Health Nurse who can offer advice on Counselling, Stress, Mental Health Provision and Suicide Prevention Strategies.  Other relevant policies include Bullying and Harassment, Alcohol and Drug, Driving at Work and Health and Safety.

An Employee Assistance Helpline is also available.
