16. Government and Regulator Relations

This section covers information the college provides to government and external regulators.  By virtue of its nature most colleges will probably find that the majority of these classes are already made available to the public by some means.

Members of the public are also likely to find the same or related information is available from the external partners the college has links with.



Funding body statistical reports and returns


The College is legally obliged to make statistical returns to the Scottish Funding Council.  Copies of these returns are available upon request.


HMIE reports


Carnegie College is inspected by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Education every 4 years.  Copies of the College reviews both main and summary reports are available on the Carnegie College website.  These are also available from the HMIE website (www.scotland.gov.uk/hmie).  A limited number of paper copies are also available from Carnegie College.


Other statutory reports


Information which the College is legally required to publish includes its Annual Accounts.


Information on student admission, progression and completion


The College is required to submit to the Scottish Further Education Funding Council the following statistical information:

  • Learner qualifications on entry.
  • The range of learner entrants classified by age, sex, ethnicity, disability and geographical origin.
  • Learner progress and retention data for each year of the course / programme.
  • Data on learner completion.
  • Data on qualifications awarded.
  • Data on employment / training outcomes for learners.
