| 15. External and Community Relations |
|
This section covers information relating to the College’s relationship with its external environment. These include how it manages its relationship with the local community and how it retains contact with its former staff and students. By virtue of its nature most colleges will probably find that the majority of these classes are already made available to the public by some means. AlumniWe’d like to remain in touch with as many previous students and friends with an interest in the College as possible. E-newsletters will keep all members of the Carnegie College family up to date with all things ‘Carnegie‘ and will provide a medium for interaction with readers. If you have not received a newsletter yet and wish to do so, please let us know via the Get Connected page of the Carnegie Connections website . Community RelationsCarnegie College has a range of Access Centres, where learners can drop-in and undertake learning within their own community. Carnegie College works closely with a number of organisations in order to provide learners with appropriate facilities and support. Further information is available upon request. Development activitiesCarnegie College has a learning facility for students with additional support needs. The ASPIRE Centre (Additional Support Programme in Real-life Environments), although the smaller component of this centre, is a new concept in creating real life and work learning environments for students with severe learning difficulties, disabilities and complex needs. This facility will create simulated living and working environments enabling our learners to become confident and skilled for a more independent and rewarding life. Public RelationsThe College produces a wide range of support material in order to communicate with learners and stakeholders. This ranges from prospectus through to individual booklets relating to subject areas. All press releases are published on-line on our extensive website which drives all of our communications to our public. A comprehensive events calendar is also available on the website. Further specific information is available upon request. top Back to Freedom of Information Menu |
