Defence Chefs Fired Up For Hospitality Fair
On Thursday 22 January, the Defence Chef of the Year competitions will take place in the eat@carnegie restaurant in Carnegie College, with both junior and senior chefs competing for this prestigious title. The fair involves competitions, demonstrations and exhibitions with participants coming from throughout the whole of Scotland. The trophies are being sponsored by Barrs Irn Bru and Coca Cola, with champagne being gifted by Lanson for the winners and runners up in each category. The defence chefs are employed by ESS (formerly Eurest Support Services), who are the market leading support services division of Compass Group, providing food and support services to customers operating in remote sites, defence and off-shore sectors.

HIGHER EDUCATION OPEN DAY - 25 MARCH - 4-5 PM

Carnegie College is having a Higher Education Open Day on Wednesday 25 March at their Halbeath and Rosyth campuses between 4 - 5 pm.  Parents and pupils are invited to come along to find out about Higher Education opportunities at HN level, and Degree qualifications with our partner Edinburgh Napier University right here in Dunfermline.

 

Assistant Principal Janet McCauslin said, “In order that we can do our utmost to allow school leavers to make an informed decision about their future, we are inviting them to join us on campus for a tour of facilities, and information workshops.  Staff from our six academic Schools will be on hand to give advice and information about HE level study.   Many of our courses are filling up fast, and we will be offering places on the day to suitable applicants who bring along their portfolio and certificates – a fantastic opportunity to start planning their future.”

Aspire Students Christmas Fayre
Students from the ASPIRE Centre held their annual Christmas Fayre and Fun Day on Friday 5 December in the Caledonia Cafe at Carnegie College in Halbeath. Students had been busy for months making the items that on sale – cards, tags, decorations, bookmarks, cake and candy. There were also quizzes, tombola, Knock down the Cans, It’s a Mugs Game and Santa’s Grotto with Lucky Dip. £800 was raised, with the money being shared between their own fund for outings including their residential weekend next year, and their nominated charity.

Event Draws Lucky Winner
When Alexandria Nunn (16) from Dalgety Bay went along to Carnegie College’s recent Open Day, not only did she receive some really useful information about what’s on offer there, but she also ended up the lucky winner of an ipod touch when her name was drawn from those who registered their attendance.
