Students Show Off Creative Talents |
From 15th to 20th June shoppers in the Kingsgate Centre, Dunfermline were able to view an astonishing range of work from Carnegie’s Graphic Design, Jewellery, Digital Media, Photography, Art and Design and Furniture Restoration students
All the work on show was the culmination of the efforts, skills, talents and imagination of full and part-time students aged from 15 to 70+ years, engaged on a wide range of courses at NQ, HNC and HND level with Carnegie College. Much of the work formed part of portfolios that students produce to support their university degree study applications. Throughout the week Carnegie drama students gave a variety of short performances to entertain the public. These took place in the upper concourse close to Starbucks Coffee Shop.
Ann Brown, Head of School of Computing and Creative Arts, spoke about the Exhibition saying, ‘We were so pleased to be able to use the Kingsgate facilities this year as it opened up the Exhibition to a greater number of visitors. I am sure they will all be impressed with the quality and range of the exhibits on show.' There was also the opportunity to purchase some artwork and jewellery – possibly snap up a bargain which may be worth a fortune in years to come! Also shoppers were entertained by the short drama pieces.
Carnegie College's Creative Arts Exhbiition was officially opened on Monday evening by Councillor Frances Melville, Provost of Fife.
