Trip Share - cutting the cost of travel
CARNEGIE College is hoping that staff and students travelling to its Halbeath, Rosyth and Cowdenbeath campuses sign up to its journey-sharing scheme, Carnegie College Trip Share, to beat the ever increasing fuel costs, the demand for parking and make a marked reduction in the organisation’s carbon footprint.

Carnegie College Trip Share is a web based scheme, part of the wider Trip Share Fife, which matches up drivers and journeys. Around 70-80% of all journeys are undertaken by cars with only one occupant, the driver. Trip Share is part of UK wide organisation liftShare, the largest car-share network in the UK, with around 371,000 members and over 1 million journeys registered. The average user saves around £800 per annum in motoring costs.

It couldn’t be easier to join the scheme, and the system will then tell you of other students or colleagues who live near you, with whom you can share the daily journey to and from College, as well as the costs of travel. You might even find a match to walk or cycle to College with.

It is FREE to register for this scheme and the benefits are considerable:
Reduced travel costs
Reduced congestion
Reduced pollution
Reduced carbon dioxide emissions

To join the Carnegie trip Share scheme, College students and staff should contact HR and Organisational Development.
