Panto for Pudsey
Characters from pantomime and Disney films will come together in a fun-packed, laughter-filled, singing and dancing extravaganza performed by Carnegie College students in aid of the annual BBC Children in Need Appeal next week.

NQ Dramatic Arts students from the College are performing ‘Panto for Pudsey – Storybook Dreams’ in the Fletcher Studio at the main college campus in Halbeath from 10-13 November. The students themselves are responsible for all areas of the show, from writing and performing to make-up and music, with director Krystal Johnstone and technical director Charlotte Collins blending it into an hour long variety show featuring characters such Pocohontas, Peter Pan, Aladdin, the Little Mermaid, Shrek and Cinderella, who this time is visited not by her Fairy Godmother, but by the sinister mafia-like Fairy Godfathers!

Natasha O’Brien, 16, from Dunfermline, who took on the role of choreographer said “While each scene stands alone, the common theme of pantomime and Disney is the thread that runs through them, culminating in a lively finale of ‘Footloose’”. Kevin Connolly (16) from Kinross and Joseph Hannan (16) from Dunfermline, both agreed that while it had been very hard work, everybody was contributing to making this a success, not just to raise money for this worthwhile cause, but as a bonus the work put into it would also count towards credits for their course.

All proceeds from ticket sales and ‘bucket’ collections will be donated to Children in Need. Last year the students raised over £1,000 and it is hoped that this year the sum raised will exceed this amount.

Tickets for the show are available from Customer Services, telephone 0844 248 0115.
