| Methil Business Incubator Open Day |
Carnegie’s Access Centre at Methil is holding an Open Day on 8th December, from 10am to 4pm, for budding entrepreneurs to find out more about the benefits and support offered through the Business Impact Suite at Thomson House. The Open Day is part of the celebrations taking place across the world to mark the first Global Business Incubation Day.
Staff will be on hand to give advice regarding the support and funding available to help turn a business idea into reality and visitors will be able to meet over 25 local entrepreneurs who have started their own businesses and who will be giving demonstrations or offering their services and products for sale. The Business Impact Suite in Methil provides hot desking and a range of support services in a state of the art business facility. There is space for up to 12 hot deskers with high specification computers and printers, filing cabinets, telephone and internet access, all in a secure office environment. Business incubation is a concept that is found in countries around the world. In the UK alone, there are around 300 incubators, supporting over 20,000 creative and innovative businesses. This first Global Business Incubation Day celebrates the important role they have played in developing and growing innovation and entrepreneurship around the world. Councillor Tony Martin, Strategic Chair of the Fife Council’s Environment, Enterprise & Transportation Committee said: “Business incubators serve as a launching pad for young businesses, providing the ideal environment to develop and grow. Flexibility is key to their success. The Open Day on 8th December is a great opportunity for those who are starting out in business to find out how a move to a incubator could benefit them and I hope people will come along to see the facilities and talk to the experts who will be there to offer help and advice.” Rose Duncan, Assistant Head of Carnegie College’s School of Access and Communities, speaking about the event said ‘Global Business Incubation Day is a great opportunity in which to introduce the local community to the Business Incubator Suite at Thomson House. Visitors will be able to speak with our clients who have turned a business idea into reality and who we are continuing to support and advise.’ |
