Event Draws Lucky Winner
When Alexandria Nunn (16) from Dalgety Bay went along to Carnegie College’s recent Open Day, not only did she receive some really useful information about what’s on offer there, but she also ended up the lucky winner of an ipod touch when her name was drawn from those who registered their attendance.

Currently a sixth year pupil at Inverkeithing High School, Alexandria lives with her parents and younger brother in Dalgety Bay. A Mentor and Senior Prefect and voted House Captain by her peers, Alexandria is studying 4 Highers, with 3 others in English, Drama and Fashion already under her belt.

Alexandria said “I haven’t fully made up my mind what I want to do when I leave school next year, so I went along to Carnegie with a friend to see what options are available and find out about the types of courses they could offer me. I already attend drama classes in the evening at Carnegie and recently achieved an A pass in Drama Higher. I also enjoy different types of dancing such as ballet, tap and jazz, so performing arts could be an option, but I’m now considering a career in journalism so will probably be looking at studying this at college or university.”

Anthony Winney, head of corporate affairs at Carnegie College, remarked “The recent Open Day in August saw over 400 people come through the doors looking for information on Carnegie courses, with record numbers of people enrolling on courses and aking applications. We gave everyone who came along the chance to win an ipod touch, and I’m delighted that Alexandria was the lucky winner, I’m sure she will really enjoy owning one. I wish her all the best with her studies, and who knows, she might decide to study journalism at Carnegie when she leaves school.”

Alexandria added “I won a bike in a competition when I was younger, but never expected to win this. My brother has already been asking if he can borrow it, but I’ve told him there is no chance of that happening.” And what type of music does Alexandria plan to upload onto her new ipod? “I like a mixture of different types of music, but definitely Artctic Monkeys, they’re my favourite band.”
