Day in the Life of Carnegie College
This is the second year the “Day in the Life” competition has run. Primary Schools were invited to enter the competition in which P7 pupils were asked to write a letter to the Principal telling him why they would like to come to Carnegie for a day. Janet McCauslin, Assistant Principal, selected the winning letters from those submitted by each school and met the children to congratulate them personally on Thursday 18 June 2009 when they came to spend a day with us and experience life at the college.

The day started in Hospitality with Andrew Main where the group each produced a Victoria sponge. After a quick juice stop it was on to Construction where the pupils had a stencilling lesson with Andy Morrison and produced a Carnegie plaque. Lunch waoditl art.jpgs served in Eat@Carnegie where we all tucked in to a healthy lunch laid on by Charlotte.

A busy afternoon started with a First Aid session with Steve Tillier where the pupils had the chance to practise resuscitation. The final session was Animation where Laura Penman showed the pupils how to make models from Plasticine.

All the pupils had a great day and went home with a Carnegie goody bag complete with sponge cakes, plaques and slug models. Everyone seemed to have good fun and enjoy their experience at Carnegie College.
