| Carnegie College Offers Internationally Recognised Beauty Specialist Qualification |
|
Beauty Therapists will now be able to study towards the ITEC diploma for Beauty Specialists at Carnegie College, Dunfermline. Carnegie is one of only two colleges in Scotland to offer this qualification.
Starting in August 2008, Carnegie College’s School of Health, Childcare and Science will be offering a full time Diploma for Beauty Specialists. This course will provide students with a thorough understanding and the practical skills of facial treatments, skincare and eye treatments, manicure and pedicure procedures, waxing techniques and make up. Students will train in a modern fully equipped beauty salon at our Halbeath campus. Marion Scott, Head of School of Health, Childcare and Science said ‘Students will be coached by expert practitioners and cover all the practical skills and underpinning theory and knowledge required to practise as a beauty specialist. In addition, they will be trained to design treatment plans and to conduct professional client consultations. The course also includes units in science, communications, numeracy and IT. It is essential that candidates for this course enjoy working with people and have good inter-personal skills which will enable them to relate to their clients in a professional manner.’
