Careerzone Helps Students Prepare For Work |
At a time when applying for jobs is becoming more competitive, it is imperative that those looking for work promote themselves as best they can, and students at Carnegie College, whether seeking full-time, part-time or seasonal work, have the edge on other jobseekers as they have access to professional staff with a wealth of expertise to guide, support and encourage them in their efforts to secure jobs.
 |
Located in The Access Centre in Carnegie College’s Halbeath campus, the new careerzone@tac is a bright, safe and friendly place where learners can carry out all their job searching activities at no cost to themselves. Employability, enterprise and citizenship education are embedded into all programmes of study, giving students knowledge and skills over and above the course work necessary to achieve qualifications. |
| The careerzone@tac provides support and information such as employment opportunities, advice on completing application forms, telephone techniques and mock interviews. In addition learners have free access to facilities such as stationery, including postage, the internet, faxing and photocopying. The base also supports enterprise innovation and creativity and supports and promotes citizenship activities. |
|
A new feature that has been made available to jobseeking students is that they can sign up to receive text messages, where details of current vacancies, relevant to their area of training, are sent direct to their mobile phones.
