A new dining experience is now available at Carnegie College for students, staff and members of the public to enjoy.
The training restaurant has recently undergone refurbishment and has been renamed ‘eat @ carnegie’. The restaurant focuses on learner involvement for both Hospitality and Business students who run the training restaurant as an enterprise activity forming part of their course work. The students, from the Andrew Carnegie Business School, gain practical experience being responsible for planning, organising, marketing and financial recording as well as the preparation and serving of the meals.

Following on from the hugely successful Open Day in August, which saw over 420 visitors come along to find out about full-time courses, the Carnegie College is holding an Information Event for part-time courses on Thursday 3 September from 4-8 pm at its Halbeath Campus. In conjunction with the release of its new part-time training directory, with flexible class times, including evening or weekend classes, many courses will be starting soon and this is an ideal chance for employers and employees to come along and talk to the experts about what programmes are best for business and personal development. Soul comes to the Carnegie Conference Centre on 31July when Dunfermline DJ Brian Nobile hosts his 60s and 70s Soul Night show. With music from artists such as Ottis Reading, the three degrees and the Drifters, it promises to be a brilliant ‘summer soul night get-together’ with great music, great food and a great atmosphere.

Carnegie College is now offering help to those who are living in the Dunfermline area whose first language is not English. The ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) courses are accredited units and give learners the opportunity to have their learning recognised by SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority).
